Welcome
Welcome to the Ingomar Swim Team!
The Ingomar Swim Team participates in the North Hills Summer Swim League (Gold Division) with seven other swim teams: Avonworth, Brook Park, Community, Franklin Ridge, Hampton, Richland and Shaler.
Our swim season consists of swimming against each of these teams in a dual meet where all members of our team are given the opportunity to compete. The year ends with a Relay Championship Meet and an Individual Championship Meet (with all 8 teams competing in both Championship meets). League information is available on the North Hills Summer Swim League web site https://nhssl.swimtopia.com

General Meet Information:
A dual meet consists of 42 events, with a mix of individual and relay events. Events are scheduled by gender and age, giving everyone a chance to be successful. The coaches develop the meet line-up, which is a listing of who swims in which events. It is put together to utilize the swimmers in the most competitive way, as points are scored for the first “heat,” or race, of an event. Subsequent heats are designated as “alternate heats” and give each child the opportunity to swim in each meet.
Each swimmer must sign-up for the meets they are going to participate in. ALL MEET SIGN UPS WILL BE DONE ONLINE! This is critical so that the coaches can prepare an accurate line-up for the meet. If you sign up, PLEASE attend the meet … it is VERY difficult for the coaches to rework a line-up at the last minute.
During a meet, the team will have a designated area where all members should stay when they are not swimming or lined up for an event. This is critical so that the coaches and volunteers can find all the children when it is time to line up for their event. If the coaches cannot find your child, they may miss their event.
Home meets are a source of fundraising for the host clubs in the dual meet league. We encourage you to support our team by purchasing food items at our concession stand. Also, it takes many volunteers to run a swim meet. ALL parents are expected to volunteer throughout the season to help things run smoothly.
You have registered your child for the team, but is your child ready? In order for all children to have a positive experience, we ask that you remember to have your child swim for a coach prior to the first practice. This is for all new swimmers under the age of eight. Our goal is for as many as want to can participate, but remember safety is a major concern.
Thanks for joining the Ingomar Orcas Swim Team!
